Biography

Chelsea Pawlaczyk is a photography specialist working within our visual arts department. After completing A Levels in Art and Photography; she went on to complete her degree at Nottingham Trent University in Photography in 2010.

Chelsea initially started her teaching career in adult education; teaching Photoshop and events photography to adults; whilst studying to become a qualified secondary school teacher. She then went on to be Head of Photography, teaching GCSE and A Level, with great success at a local school. During this time, Chelsea and her students collaborated with Ashfield District Council; to create local artwork for the Idlewells Shopping Centre.

Since her A Levels, Chelsea has been passionate about traditional darkroom photography; combining this traditional knowledge to create unique digital outcomes with students, promoting the importance of fine art photography. She also has a plethora of art skills including drawing, painting and printmaking.

Alongside teaching, Chelsea has also run a successful photography business specialising in weddings and artist portraiture since 2010. Locally, Chelsea has collaborated with many businesses photographing a range of subjects for commercial use.
