Sessional Specialist: Functional Skills (to be delivered remotely)

The salary will be £13.85 per hour with an additional payment made each month for the annual leave that is accrued in that month (£1.75 per hour)

This is a great opportunity for a dynamic and professional individual to join a forward thinking College to develop and teach functional skills to groups of adult learners from various backgrounds to improve their work skills and opportunities.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team to support learners gain their essential skills through their programmes of study.

You will need to possess a teaching qualification, or be willing to undertake an Adult Award in Education Level 3 and have a good knowledge of and professional experience within teaching.  You will have excellent interpersonal, communication and administrative skills showing a flexible and professional attitude. 

We would also welcome applicants who holds A levels in Maths or English and looking for their first steps into teaching.

You will be teaching between one to three functional skills, from English, Maths and ICT (Or Digital Essential Skills) from Entry level 1 to level 2 using remote systems such as BSKB and Microsoft Teams with good communication links with your students.

It is essential that you have the ability to build positive relationships, displaying excellent communication, organisational skills and administrative skills demonstrating a flexible and professional attitude.

You will be a highly self-motivated, energetic and driven individual, encompassing a strong sense of autonomy.  You will possess excellent presentation and communication skills and be able to demonstrate achievement of targets.

You will be a role model for college students and will work to professional standards.

The role will require you to embed the college’s values; Respect, Integrity, Collaboration, High Expectations, Responsibility.
