Posted: 12 June 2018

West Nottinghamshire College’s musical theatre students are set to do what they do best this month as they present their final showcase of the year.

Musical Theatre students will give a glittering performance in Opening Night
Musical Theatre students will give a glittering performance in Opening Night

Opening Night will take place on Monday 18 June at 7pm at the college’s Create Theatre at the Derby Road campus and audiences will be toe-tapping along to some musical gems.

The Performing Arts (Musical Theatre) Level 3 Diploma class will bring their one-year programme to an end, by showing off their talents in singing, dancing and acting.

The show follows Max, a prolific producer whose shows are always awful, but attract attention; and anyone who is anyone on Broadway starts off in one of his productions. Having announced a set of open auditions for his latest show he’s looking for a new star.

Opening Night is a musical theatre revue-style performance that follows a selection of aspiring actors, dancers and musical theatre performers from across America who are all desperate to make their careers on Broadway.

The show will feature well-known songs from a host of popular musicals and is not to be missed.

Tickets cost £5 each and can be purchased from www.createtheatre.co.uk or by calling 01623 413363.
