Affordable and flexible university level study in Mansfield

There have been lots of changes to university fee structures recently and as these are due to take effect from September 2012, you may be reconsidering your options.

At Vision West Nottinghamshire College, we have worked hard to ensure that we continue our tradition of providing flexible and affordable university level courses to the local community, despite the government decision to increase fees.

Why Vision West Nottinghamshire College?

Fees and finance
  • Our yearly fees remain low in comparison with other colleges and universities, only £5,500 for full-time courses and £3,000 for part-time courses
  • You can access pre-course advice on finance
  • Student loans are available – you don’t have to pay up front if it is your first degree
  • You only start to repay your loan once you earn above £21k
  • Loan repayments are affordable
  • Student finance is now available for part-time study
  • Full and partial grants are available dependent on household income
  • A National Scholarship programme is now available
  • You can save on accommodation/living costs if you study locally

Fees may have increased but you DON’T NEED TO PAY FOR THEM UPFRONT. Student loans are available so you don’t need to worry about debt – you only pay back a small percentage of your salary once you earn over £21,000. If you don’t work, you don’t have to make any loan payments.

Take a look at our sample case studies below, which show how fee repayments have little effect on take-home pay.

‘Tom’ starts a full-time Foundation Degree in Business Management at Vision West Nottinghamshire College. His yearly fees are £5,500 over two years. If Tom gains employment as a marketing officer, and earns a yearly salary of £26,000, his loan repayment over a year is just £363 – just over £30 a month.

‘Jenny’ studies for her GDTLLS teaching qualification on a part-time basis over two years at Vision West Nottinghamshire College. Her yearly fees are £3,000. If she gains employment when she finishes, based on the average starting salary of £23,918, she will only have to repay £318 of her loan in that year – just £26.50 a month.

If Jenny begins her course aged 18, finishes when she is 20 and goes straight into employment, she could pay her entire loan by the time she is 30, assuming her salary rises in line with inflation and yearly wage increases.
