Vocational Courses

A vocational qualification is defined as a recognised qualification at any level relating to a particular line of work or specific job role. These qualifications have an emphasis on the assessment of practical skills and knowledge.

NVQs

National Vocational Qualifications are practical, work-related courses. They reflect the skills and knowledge needed to do a job effectively and show that you are competent in the area of work that your NVQ represents. A training course leads you through a series of assessments against national standards.

As your skills develop, you will build up a number of units to a full NVQ at a particular level. The course length can vary depending on the level and your own progress.
