You may be entitled to a discount in your course fees
Since publishing our course guide, the government have changed the rules related to fee remission. If you are in receipt of certain benefits you may be entitled to a discount in the published course fees.
In early August, the Government changed their guidance in relation to who could claim discounted fees for college courses. The guidance relates to students aged over 19 and would only apply to Skills Funding Agency funded courses listed in our guide with a discounted fee (those courses with an N/A in the discount fee column would not be eligible)
If you are in receipt of Job Seekers’ Allowance (JSA) including a partner where the claim is joint or Employment Support Allowance (ESA) Work Related Activity Group you will pay nothing for your course. You will be asked to provide proof of benefits before we remit your fees.
If you are in receipt of the following benefits, are actively seeking employment and feel that the course you are enrolling on will help you find work, you will be entitled to a discount from your course fees. This discount is listed as the discount fee in the course guide:
- Income Support
- ESA Support Group
- ESA Assessment Phase
- Incapacity benefit (if not already in employment)
- Unemployed dependents of working tax credit claimants
You will be asked to sign a self declaration form and provide proof of benefits before fees are remitted.
