Wood Occupations - Site Diploma Level 3

Overview

This advanced award is designed to prepare you for a career in the joinery/carpentry industry by instilling the job knowledge and practical skills require for this sector.

How long is the course?

One year.

How will I be assessed?

You will be expected to collect work-based evidence and photos for your portfolio to enable acheivement of the NVQ.

What will I study?

You'll study a range of modules that will include the following:

- Erect structural carcassing components
- Install first fixing components
- Install second fixing components
- Conform to efficient working practices
- Move and handle resources


You will also be required to undertake Functional Skills in English and Maths.

What does the course lead to?

On successful completion of the award you could gain employment as a professional carpenter/joiner.

What can I go on to study?

You could progress to the AVCE (Advanced Vocational Certificate in Education) Built Environment course.

Entry requirements

You should have completed the Level 2 Diploma or a relevent NVQ Level 2.
