Are you passionate about working with people in the health and social care sector? This course is the perfect stepping stone for anyone interested in pursuing a career in the health sector (such as nursing, paramedic, therapies)
Following successful completion of this course you will progress onto :
This course allows you to study health related topics such as science and person-centred practice and understand how health has an impact on the body. In addition, you will have opportunity to look at a variety of health conditions and how common they are, and the research and data associated with these conditions.
You will have opportunity to develop your skills using the simulated ward - where you can practice with the latest AI and robot patients to enable you to understand person centred practice, health and safety, and communication skills. There will then be an opportunity to apply this in practice in a Health and Social Care Setting- so students must have a DBS and have signed the student charter on conduct and behaviours that replicate the sector values alongside the requirements of working in a clinical environment supported by the NHS.
This is the National Technical Outcome (NTO) for the Health and Science route and as part of this you will study three learning outcomes:
Outcome 1 (O1)
Outcome 2A (O2A)
Outcome 3 (O3)
You will also study the Level 2 Certificate in Health and Social Care to enhance your programme of study and achieve a recognised qualification upon successful completion.
Mandatory units
You will need also need to attend GCSE English language, Maths and Science lessons, as well as a block week of work placement.
You will receive insight information into the NHS and the T Level to support your progression the following year.
This course is only available to 16-18 year olds.
If you are not studying a traditional GCSE programme, we accept alternative qualifications like Functional Skills and vocational courses. If you are not planning on sitting GCSE exams, we can also support you with completing an English Language and Maths assessment. Please contact our admissions team for further details:
This qualification is internally assessed and externally quality assured and will be graded as D/C/B/A/A* graded work in the form of assignments.
You must be successful in all components to gain the qualification and complete the projects for the National Technical Outcome (NTO).
Progression to university*
The T Level in Health - Level 3 has accredited UCAS points and therefore will support progression on to university.
Please note - you should look at a range of universities to check entry grades and preferred courses for further progression.
