Sign Language CACDP Level 1

Overview

If you wish to acquire basic language skills in order to communicate with deaf people, progress to advanced study of BSL or gain future employment in a BSL role, this course will provide you with the fundamentals you need.

Description

Throughout this course you will learn to sign about everyday life, such as meeting people, getting around and exchanging information.

There are three units to complete for the Level 1 award:

  • Unit 1 Meeting people, Using numbers, Weather, Transport, Directions
  • Unit 2 People, Animals & Objects, Interests & Activities
  • Unit3 Getting around, Exchanging information, Refreshments, School, College & Work

How long is the course?

30 Week

How will I be assessed?

You will assessed by three examinations (assessment is through the awarding body).

What does the course lead to?

Upon completion of the course you could progress to the CACDP Level 2 award.
