Understanding business is becoming increasingly important in a world where advances in technology and communications have taken centre stage. This course will provide the studies needed to cope with today's businesses.

What will I study?

The first year will focus on two main topics; planning and financing a business and managing a business. You will focus on different types of business structures, recruitment, increasing profits, operations management and marketing.

In the second year you will build on your knowledge base through two more learning topics: strategies for success and the business and environment and managing change. you will cover financial strategies to improve products and employee relations and dealing with the impact of economic, cultural, political and technological changes of an organisation.

What does the course lead to?

A levels are a good qualification to attain for progression onto University or onto an academic career. These qualifications are also recognised by prospective employers.

What can I go on to study?

Degree options range from; Economics, Finance and Accountancy to Management and Enterprise and E-Business.

The Foundation Degree in Business Management here at Vision West Notts is also a popular choice with students who wish to further their studies.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at grade C or above, which must include English and Mathematics. The syllabus is suitable for those without any business experience, although some knowledge of business/commerce is an advantage.
