Advanced Apprenticeship in Business and Administration Level 3

Overview

This advanced apprenticeship allows you to study towards a recognised qualification whilst in an employed position.

If you work in an administration supervisor or team leader position within an office environment then this is the apprenticeship for you.

Description

During your advanced apprenticeship you will be mainly developing, implementing and maintaining administrative services for customers and clients.

This will include:

Manage own performance in a business environment

Evaluate and improve own performance in a business environment

Work in a business environment

Communicate in a business environment

How long is the course?

Depending on the individual the course normally lasts one year to eighteen months.

How will I be assessed?

The NVQ is delivered in the workplace. Your assessor will visit you once every two weeks for one to one support and assessment.

The Technical Certificate will be delivered in the workplace.

Functional Skills are delivered in the workplace with one to one support.

What will I study?

As part of your advanced apprenticeship you will cover the following:

  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Business and Administration
  • Technical Certificate in Business Administration Level 3
  • Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths
  • Functional Skills Level 2 in English

What does the course lead to?

By achieving the programme you will develop the skills that will allow you to:

  • Communicate effectively
  • Accept responsibility for your own work and its delivery
  • Improve your own performance
  • Behave in a way that encourages efficient working.

You will also be able to demonstrate effective supervisory skills in a job as a business administration team leader or supervisor.

What can I go on to study?

After completing the level 3 you may wish to progress on to a level 4 NVQ or study a foundation degree. For this you will need to be an owner or responsible for running a department.

Entry requirements

You will need to have already achieved this qualification at Level 2. 

As this is a work-based qualification you must be employed in an administrative role.

Start dates

If you are between the age of 16 and 18 the apprenticeship is free of charge. If you are 19 and above your employer must pay a one off fee.

During your apprenticeship your employer is obliged to pay you a wage at the minimum rate for an apprentice.
