Overview

The AAT Level 2 qualification will start to develop your skills in double entry bookkeeping and give you an understanding of the management and administrative processes of accountancy.

Description

AAT accountancy courses are designed to teach you practical skills that can you can transfer directly to your workplace or aid your career progression.

An AAT qualification offers you a professional status that reflects the skills you’ve worked so hard to gain.

So, when employers see the letters MAAT after your name, they’ll know they’re dealing with a credible, up-to-date professional.

As a member of the AAT, you’ll have the support of the largest professional body for accounting technicians worldwide.

On the Level 2 course, you will learn how to use manual and computerised accounting systems for purchase ledger, sales ledger and the general ledger.

How long is the course?

One or two years. This is a part-time course with two options:

Over one year: Either a full day or two evenings

Over two years: A morning, afternoon or evening session

How will I be assessed?

Your internal assessment will be in the form of a simulated work product. You will also be required to take one external examination.

What will I study?

Modules include:

  • Recording income and receipts
  • Making and recording payments
  • Preparing ledger balances
  • Supplying information for management control
  • Working with computers
  • The maintenance of a healthy, safe and productive environment
  • Achieving personal effectiveness.

What does the course lead to?

Upon completion, you will be able to gain employment as a trainee accountant, purchase ledger clerk or sales ledger clerk.

What can I go on to study?

Progression onto the Intermediate (NVQ Level 3) AAT qualification.

Entry requirements

A GCSE grade C in English and Maths is essential (or equivalent qualifications).

Discount Fee: £60.00

*Total fee is cost of one year of a two-year programme of study.
