An A Level in Accounting is challenging, requires commitment and an analytical approach and is suited to those with an interest in modern business. It can be difficult to master but utlimately is a very fulfilling and rewarding subject to study.
You will consider how financial accounting helps in the measuring, monitoring and planning of successful business operations. Study will include business ownership, control, profitability, performance and budgeting
At A2 you will learn and develop an understanding of financial accounting techniques for business without a complete accounting system for both partnerships and limited companies.
You will then study in greater depth how accounting techniques aid business management and decision making. The course will investigate areas such as capital investment, budgeting and sources of finance.
Many students who choose to study A level Accounting go on to university and become qualified accountants, working for accountancy practices or within the financial service organisations. With a few years’ experience, some decide to become self-employed and start their own practice.
The full advanced GCE A Level course provides an excellent foundation for further study of accountancy at pre-professional and professional levels, with the opportunity of gaining a career as either a fully qualified chartered or certified accountant.
