College to hold ‘virtual’ open evening

Posted: 27 April 2012

Prospective students can attend an open evening at West Nottinghamshire College – without leaving their homes.

The college is staging its first-ever ‘virtual’ open evening on Tuesday (1 May) for people to find out more about its university-level courses.

People can log on to www.wnc.ac.uk from 6-8pm for live chat, videos of tutors and students talking about courses and student life, virtual tours of college campuses and information about fees and funding.

Higher education staff, course tutors, student advocates and careers advisers will also be available to answer questions online.

Louise Knott, director of learner engagement, said: “In an age where people lead increasingly busy lives, it’s important to provide prospective students with new ways of engaging with the college while embracing new technologies.

“Our virtual open evening will allow people to discover everything they want to know about the college’s higher education provision, as well as chat to staff, student advocates and careers advisers from the comfort of their own homes.”
